Manage Prices

Flickrocket works with ‘Price Models’ which are assigned to products/licenses or actions such as a physical production or shipping and handling. A ‘Price Model’ consists of prices in different currencies which are automatically selected by the web shop during the sales process. If the customer’s native currency is not specified in the price model, the web shop will automatically try to calculate the correct amount based on the last known currency exchange rates.

FlickRocket works with the following three different price models:

  • Price models for sales items

These price models define the price of the project/film. It is the basis for pure download/streaming sales as well as sales including physical production and shipment and is charged for every film ordered. Different licenses can have different price models associated.

  • Price models for shipping

These price models define the shipping price. Each price model is responsible for at least one destination country and has a maximum weight. The web shop automatically selects the correct price model based on destination country and weight of the shipment. This price model also defines who is responsible for manufacturing and shipping of the discs.

The price models can be defined and selected both in the ‘FlickRocket Uploader’ and on the FlickRocket website.

System default price models can not be modified. To create your own price model, click on "Add Price Model"

Price models for sales items

These price models enable you to set USD ($) and EUR (€) prices, as well as prices per language.

In case a customer from a country which is not specified in the price model is purchasing, the web shop will automatically attempt to calculate the price in his local currency based on the entered USD (for all countries outside of Europe) and EUR (for all countries within Europe) values. If the exchange rate is not available, the price will be displayed in USD ($) or EUR (€) depending on the region.

Price models for shipping

The shipping price models are used whenever a physical disc is ordered by a customer. It enables you to set prices for the United States, Europe and Rest of the world as well as prices per country.

In addition to the region, each shipping price model contains a maximum weight and the company responsible for performing the shipment.

In the case a customer from a country which is not specified in the price model is purchasing, the web shop will automatically attempt to calculate the price in his local currency based on the entered USD (for all countries outside of Europe) and EUR (for all countries within Europe) values. The shipment price model to be used is selected by the web shop based on the destination address and estimated weight of the package.

The shipment can be performed either by yourself or by a Flickrocket production and shipment partner you have assigned for this task, either by using the ‘FlickRocket Uploader’ or from the FlickRocket website under ‘Shop / General / Settings’.
